About me
The Beginning…
I graduated from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore (11th University in the World) with a BA in Economics (Hons). During my time in school, I gained exposure in multiple colleges around the world, London School of Economics, Melbourne University and University of California Los Angeles. As I interned at a variety of companies in college, I had experience working in 5 companies by the time I graduated. I knew I had a knack for leadership in University when I was the Vice President of the NTU Model United Nations conference, that hosted 300 students from around the region on campus back in 2013.
The core experience…
I always wanted to lead, mentor and guide people. I wanted to be that figure that I did not have when I most needed it.
My career has mainly been in developing Sales and Customer Experience teams from scratch across companies. One notable accomplishment was when I was the first hire of a regional sales team at professional networking site, LinkedIn and was tasked to train the team in India, on-site as well. Another, was I was the Regional Head of Customer Experience at Greenhouse, a Pre-Series A start-up, where I built a high performing customer experience team and was recognised for the Best new comer in 2018 and Most Valuable Player in 2019. I enjoyed sales thoroughly as I could partner with clients to find them the best possible solution for their needs, while giving them top-notch customer service.
I noticed the landscape of sales had evolved in the recent years, and it was providing a great service and experience that set one company apart from another.
Falling into Coaching…
Being a young Regional Head, I took lessons from all my past managers on how to lead by example and with empathy. I worked closely with young adults who were high-achievers that had the motivation, but simply wanted that extra push to reach their goals. These young adults were people who were very self-aware, enjoyed being challenged, were always working to be better, were open to feedback, and wanted to be acknowledged for the work that they were putting in.
When I realised that there was a something called a “Coach” and all that was mentioned above was what a coach could do for an individual, it was only natural for me to pursue this more. I decided to combine my learnings from Sales, Customer Experience, Leadership and Coaching to make my interest a business.
I now specialise in coaching young professionals to break free from their personal inhibitions, such that they can reach their business or career goals. With coaching, I strongly believe that when change comes from within, there is sustained change, thus my method of coaching is through powerful questioning rather than giving advice.
Additionally, I mentor young graduates and that simply gives me more purpose. I recently started a podcast and its been one fun ride!
Born and raised in Singapore, I now reside in Jakarta with my husband and puppy. I am a certified coach, from the Collective Change Institute in Singapore, and member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Community, currently waiting for my accreditation to be approved.
